  • "Winning" Brand, training vs competition

I hear so many good things about Winning, and I notice a lot of pros and amateurs a like train with winning gloves, groin protectors, ect but I rarely see Winning brand in competition (real fights), I always see grant or everlast, ect. Why is this? Can anyone lend some insight? thanks

Winning is a softer glove, better to protect the hands with. It is used in some fights, Erik Morales used to use it all the time, but it's primarily a training glove.

Everlast, Reyes and Grant are more for pro fights.

Winning has great padding, great hand protection, but when compared to something like Reyes, winning feels a bit soft like you're giving up a bit of power for protection. In training one of your key focuses is avoid injury whereas in a fight, you might be looking for something with a little extra oomph.

If you're looking for something in-between... You might want to give Grant a try.
