    Is the overhand a useful punch against southpaws?

    its very effective when its orthadox vs orthadox but wat about wen its southpaw vs orthadox?

      not really, but its a good idea to mix in a few just to keep your opponent guessing.

      him looking for the looping punch and perhaps even moving his backhand more to the side of his face rather than the center will make it easier to land a cross down the pipe.

      but pick those overhand punches carefully or he could easily beat you to the punch with a straight right (left if orthodox) or even a short hook with the lead hand.

      so for the most part mix up the backhand attacks by firing the cross to the body instead. that is a great punch when fighting an opponent with the opposite stance.
