WOW......................8 minutes of my life passed by!!!!!!!
Red corner won the bout but the guy in the blue did NOTHING! I never saw anyone do NOTHING in a matter of 6 minutes!!!
Whats with 2 minute rounds? Is that novice division? Either way that looked like a very light spar session not a fight! Good luck which ever yoiu were, you need to throw "meaningfull punches" if you ever do this again. Most punches landed on each others gloves!! Theres NO Playing boxing, train as hard as you can and bring that hard work to the ring. Neither guy was even "tired'! How can you give a fight everything you have and not be exhausted at the end? Good luck, the way you train is the way you'll fight! Ray.

lol Agree that blue corner definitely didn't throw enough punches, but definitely landed the only real clean shots in the early part of rounds 1 and 3.

Bout was an exhibition hence 2 min rounds and no declared victor.

That should be done in a gym not in public! Exhibitions should be done by experienced fighters so people can see quality at a slower pace than a fight! This exhibition exhibited nothing! No offense but thats not what an exhibition is all about!
These fellows are far to "green" to pull that off and it shows in their tentitiveness!!! Should have been a fight atleast then you have something to learn from. Ray.

I do not have the skills to say it, but it seems obvious that red won

Pretty even split on voting between the 2 threads. It's a good example of the subjectivity in boxing. Also a good example of how staying busy is important regardless of if you land or not. If you don't count punches that land on gloves and arms (which technically don't score), blue lands more punches than red with much less output. But the flurries from Red "look" good and can be deceiving.

Ray, you are a harsh critic lol. Exhibitions can't be just for fun?

Ray is being harsh. Amateur boxing is still hard. And yes I believe they still use 2 minute rounds for novices. My first amateur fight I went in believing that I hurt someone with a right hand in sparring the week of the fight. So I thought "That was with 14 ounce gloves, imagine 10 ounce gloves". Overconfidence set in. I went out and landed some good right hands in round 1 and thought "I'll get a standing 8 or knock him out". I ended up throwing 90 punches in round 1 and won the round for sure, but I was tired. I remember at the end of the round I heard the other trainer yell "He's tired". I figured he was trying to encourage his fighter who was getting the worst of it and just so that the kid didn't get his hopes up I threw another combination right after his trainer said that. When the bell rung I thought "Can I really do 2 more rounds of this". The next 2 rounds I threw about a combined 90 punches. I gave the other kid round 2 and I thought I won round 3 and probably had a close victory, but the judges went the other way. His trainer did promote the event and set it up so he got the benefit of the doubt. Looking back that sparring session the week of the fight might have backfired because I figured I might hurt him more with the 10 ounce gloves on and I couldn't sustain my 1st round workrate. The adrenaline and effort of a fight also makes you more tired than sparring.

I'm not being harsh at all! You said it all when you thought your sessions were going to carry you through your bout! This type of exhibition is not good for a novice to participate in. It became a light spar seesion, no one is trying to dominate and no "meaningfull" punches were thrown! It served no purpose and the participants come out with a nothing to build on. You said you were exhausted just from the anticipation well these two guys went into this "bout" with a false sence of what a Fight is supposed to be plus they don't know how to give an exhibition. To exhibit usually denoutes a high quality product is being shown not two guys who don't know how to box yet!
