Dominant hand or dominant eye to the rear?

I'm left handed but my right eye is dominant. I've always used a southpaw stance and never thought anything about it until yesterday when I read something that stated it should be your dominant eye to the rear as it helps you place your big shots more accurately.

It's probably too late for me to change stances now, but I'm very curious to know what people think of this idea?

I have bad vision in both eyes, lol, but one is worse. Everyone has a dominant eye. In some sports (shooting for example) your dominant eye determines which way you do everything.

You can test it yourself. Hold up a CD at arm's length and look through the hole in the middle. Then without hesitation or thinking, bring it back to your eye. Whichever eye you bring it back to is the dominant one.

i'll bring back to the eye closest to the hand im holding the cd in, if i hold it with the left i'll bring it back to the left eye, hold it with the right bring it to the right eye

with shooting, the shoulder that has the stock of the gun pressed against it will determine the eye too, but that's also because it'd be pretty damn awkard for the further eye

You must be one of the rare people without a dominant eye. Most people have one.

Doesnt make much of a difference imo. There are a couple schools of thought, as far as starting out with your dominant hand out front or starting out in your comfortable fighting stance, either way you simply pick a stance and develope your skills and technique from there.

My dominant hand and domjnant eye(lol) is in back...but im more skilled with my less dominant hand(lead hand)
