          It's better after.

Body is nice and warm, and muscles are already tires, so you get the same effect with less time invested.

Also your muscles reset properly from the boxing posture.

          After IMO.

Well... personally... i have heard that it is bad to lift weights at the same time that you do cardio work. So it all depends on how much Cardio you do at your boxing gym.

Basically, if you are wearing the fat off (by doing Cardio) you wont get the full benefit.

You guys have talked about your body being warm after boxing. Well i suggest that before you do any weights workout, do a quick warm up, then you get exactly the same affect.....

A boxer should never have high volume(sets and reps) weight training they should always use medium to near maximal weights for very low reps, especially ligther fighters who's aim is to make weight. Low volume medium to high intensity not only recruits fast twitch muscle fiber, but it doesn't cause hypertrophy and protein synthesis(muscle gains). Also it allows for more time to be spent working on skill development which is the most important aspect of sports. Boxer should only do presses, pulls(deads and powerlifts), and squats(lunges, squats, leg presses). A boxer need not concern him/herself with isolation exercises, unless muscular imbalances in strength are severe. Rotator cuff, biceps/triceps, hamstrings, wrist and forearm development, and neck strength are the only other areas of concern for a boxer. Weight training is a superior form of training for all athletes, but only if you truly understand the purposes and effects of weight training can you truly move to the next level of athletic performance.

I agree with the weight training excersises mentioned, I like to add in ab crunch downs and side to side twists as well.
