  • training for a fight

    just a quick question
is there a way of training (1-2 months before a fight)
so that you peak on fight night?

some people have mentioned to keep raising the intensity to the day of your fight

i have heard people mention it a few times. was wondering if its true.

I don't think there is a formula to accomplish that. It requires knowing your fighter, monitoring their weight and a whole bunch of other things. Old time trainers used to be masters at it, when they controlled every aspect of a fighter's preparation for a fight, from diet to roadwork, to naps and sparring. Now, you see a lot of guys come in looking flat and I think that is because they have too many 'trainers', with boxing trainers and cardio coaches and strength coaches and nutrition coaches, etc...
