    Kidney shots

I remember when I was sparring, I got hit in the kidney so hard. This guy had heavy hands. And I wanted to drop so bad. Like I couldn't breathe, and I was showing it. It's not something I could hide. You could hear the pain in my breath. And that is a pain I really want to avoid. Is there any way to build muscle in that area. I know the most important thing to do is to avoid getting hit there. But in boxing, nothing is certain. So is there an exercise or some type of sit up that I can do for that particular spot?

By the way, how long does it take the kidney shot to heal? Because it's been about a week now, and my ribs are still hurting. I can't even throw a punch without it hurting.
