Everyones different, I found alot of people do well with "Palm down for short tight hooks "Palm facing you for if you're reaching with it a bit, for longer hooks."

most of the main indicators have already been mentioned.

and even though u said u weren't putting ur weight behind it, u were still "popping" ur combinations, which is a good sign..it means once u start puttin something behind them you'll set them up even nicer

as far as throwing the hook, u throw the hook the way u feel the most comfortable. just remember, ur hips will always be slightly ahead of the hook, "sling" it, don't "push" it. so rotate ,rotate rotate and work off the momentum. also, make sure ur body is set to throw the hook (left), don't dip right and then throw it, ur gonna generate less power.

the best thing to do when working on shifting the weight from foot to foot is doing it slowly like u said, and repeating the combinations. get on the tire, the tire is ur best friend lol

overall good s**t chico we gonna have to get this work in, what gym was this at by the way?
      much appreciated homie!

"ur hips will always be slightly ahead of the hook, "sling" it, don't "push" it"

thats something i need to embed in my head when i throw that hook. thats make a lot of sense.

good looking dawgie, let me know man im down to work and build that be dope.

The gym is Thump Boxing Gym, very dope gym. They had a Groupon coupon to go there for 30$ so I tried it out for a month.. Issue is the amateur team only trains from 3pm-6pm so by the time i go in the boxing is over and theres some crossfit classes going on so i aint gonna renew, i was hoping they had boxing when i go in

So its a boxing gym that only does boxing for 3 hours then crossfit classes?
Sounds too fancy for me... Do they have something earlier in the day you could attend?

Thats how alot of the boxing gyms in Miami are.

Amateur Boxing is targeted to kids in school so the times will be afternoon, after school (3pm-6pm)

and the Miami PAL gym is horrible right now. The one I went to closed down and the other one was REALL dope but they got rid of the trainer (the kids left as well) and now they dont really have a trainer or a team so it's wack. its great to go and just do your own thing but not to get into the circuit.

i feel there's probably no money in Amateur boxing, MMA/Crossfit is taking over or some shyt man. who knows,

I get out of work at 6pm, almost every gym i go too is dead by that time.

I can't help but feel in a place like Miami there has got to be something better. Maybe you're looking at too many of the "pretty" gyms.

What bothers me is that they have boxing in their name, but seem to offer next to none of it...

the gyms are great but i guess its the timing i go..

the gym i shot the video at is where Glen Johnson trains at and many other boxers train at but i bet if anything there there in the morning. the amateur coaches are there til 6 pm. Thump Boxing Gym was solely a boxing gym back then but i guess they wasent making ends meet and had to evolve and put some MMA/Crossfit classes to compete. I dont think it theres fault its the fact boxing probably isnt making money

there was another gym i went too that was dope, a strictly boxing gym, a lot of sparring and boxers there but they all go in the morning time, when i went the place is dead only the out of work trying get a workout in people was there...

OK I get it now, for some reason I was thinking the only time for boxing was 3-6, and the rest of the time it was like a 24 hour fitness or something.

I'm pretty sure there is next to no money in boxing right now, unless you're one of the really famous gyms (then you probably get alot of one month and done patrons) or you're funded through some kind of Non-Profit youth foundation.

yea theres private gyms for the pros or gyms that closed down for the pros to train.

the trainers that get paid thru the city to train is not enough to survive in miami.
