Anywhere between 5-8 pints (or 3 liters average). No set plan like some people. Always drink before you feel dehydrated though, that's my only real rule.

In the winter, about half a gallon. In the summer, well over one gallon, usually one and a half, depending what I'm doing that day. Living in AZ and being active means I'm constantly drinking water.

Meh, I just drink enough to where Im not thirsty. . I don't get into the whole "drink all this excess water". . . In the summer, on days where I do my running outside in the middle of the day, I'll end up putting away maybe a gallon. . . Usually about half gallon-3/4 gallon. . .

Usually a pint first thing with breakfast.

Then a pint over the course of the afternoon.

Then a pint in the evening.

And a few swigs after cleaning my teeth before bed.

But I drink other drinks in addition.....the odd cup of tea, the odd hot chocolate, the odd energy drink or the odd soft drink or fruit juice too.

I don't drink anything but water. Constantly drinking all day, make sure my piss is clear. That's the best way to know your hydrated.

To stay healthy, over the long term, you should drink enough water to maintain a colourless urine. In any case, who wants to be a yellow pisser?

does the ice that melts in my drink count?

i still drink ungodly amounts of water, but i am not a small man.
                    straight out the goddamn tap.

when i lifted weights i cannot honestly tell you how much water i drank
twas a silly amount, really. at least a gallon. probably a lot more than that. at that rate you need access to a place to take a piss around at all times.
i mixed it with the protein and the suppliments i was taking as well.
muscles are mostly water. it's a huge part of gaining weight if you are lifting weights.

now, like many others, i like to drink milk and Juice in addition to water, so i'm not consuming the stuff at such an outrageous clip
                    maybe 3 liters a day?
a gallon if i'm sweating balls because i'm too cheap to turn the AC up
