  • Advice for knuckle pain while training

I have some pretty intense knuckle pain while hitting the bag. I had a pair of everlast protex 2 gel gloves and started to feel a bit if pain so I did some research and ended up buying the ringside IMF gloves 14 oz. the pain instantly got worse and is hurting pretty bad. The insides of the imfs seem very hard and I was wondering if they just need to be broken in? Or is my form wrong or I have some kind if knuckle problem. I apologize for the long post and any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Two things,

One is technique, which could be wrong, but I can't tell from here you have to ask your trainer.

Another possible thing is handwraps! Maybe not tight enough? Longer wraps for extra support?

you may also be hitting the bag too much. resistance builds up over time, although it can always cause problems, but a lot of people rely on hitting the bag far too much rather than concentrating on learning skills

Your knuckles would love the Winning NG-2 gel knuckle guards.

I always train with them, every knuckle issues I've had has disappeared completely.

          ^^^^^^ This.

Too expensive? Cut some sponges to your knuckle size, put them under the wraps and give it a go.

rest it first and ice it. gloves like winning do help because the knuckle area is not exposed that much.

hey boxingsmash69 are you using those guards with in between wrapping technique now?
