I haven't read the blog as I am currently at work but if you can find that clip on Ann Wolfe on youtube talking about what it means to be a true warrior I think she sums it up pretty well.
i agree with where you're coming from, however i don't think lopez is capable of boxing in the way he needs to. he is an unintelligent boxer who has gotten to world level by being a heavy hitter and little else.
cotto was definitely not half as good as he could have been but he already had some very good qualities and is an intelligent guy and fighter. diaz had something to work with there and therefore turned cotto into a boxer that could look very classy.
lopez, well you'd have a much longer road of it and it is hard to predict how that would go. the cubans (ie diaz etc) have an elaborate system for identifying potential "talent", but i don't know that lopez would tick many of their boxes.
Lopez is a very exciting fighter, capable of knocking u out but being knocked out as well. He has shown his heart many times, one of my all time fav. fighters ever.
