What's the best headgear out there, style and brand?

Got my eyes on a Fighting Sports No Contact headgear (130 bucks), but it looks huge and I'm not really sure if I should go with no contact, any tips anybody?

I was in the same dilemma as you, about a face bar,
After talking to coaches friends, and other boxes i was told not to get a headguard with a bar. Unless you are a heavyweight that spars alot or you have a weak nose it is not worth it. Against smaller boxers it will limit your vision so you won't be able to see uppercuts or some long hooks coming. It is heavy on your face making it harder to slip punches and if someone catches the bar on a hook it can pull your face around straining your neck. Get something light, leather and with cheek protectors.

I have headgear with a bar, it has its pros and cons for sure. Nose protection, no black eyes at work, usually no bruises or scratches. But it has its downsides too, bulky, blocks some of your peripheral vision, you'll get tagged on the bar on punches that should have missed. Also if you go with a bar, you want to make sure you're sparring with gloves that won't slide in between the bar and the forehead. I've seen people sparring with MMA style gloves and open a small cut on the corner of an eye.

Best **** for your buck. I have tried Winning, Everlast and Reyes and believe it or not, I like this one the best for the price. Winning is the best quality and Reyes is made so well but this one for $80 has great vision and fits really good.

For headgear with a face protector, it's the best for the price.

Ok thanks a lot guys and you have all convinced me to not get the No Contact headgear, and I'm going with a Fight Gear one at Ringside that's on sale right now (will do until I can afford a Winnging head later on this year).

Unless you plan to be a pro boxer, I wouldn't waste my money on Winning. I mean they are the best but they are ridiculously expensive.

Everlast full face gear is great and the Reyes is as well but they are also more expensive.

The Fight Gear is solid man and I have seen plenty of pro's use it in the gym. I have had mine for over a year, spar like twice a week and it still looks brand new. Just some blood stains on it but that's about it.

The Winning is so good because it's super light. The Fight Gear will feel a bit heavy at first but you get used to it quick and it's about the same weight as the Everlast or Reyes.

Alright good looking carnal, yeah no plans on becoming pro just love the sport and love to train. any sparring gloves at Ringside you can recommend me?
