  • Punch Accuracy and timing

So guys I have had a long layoff and I sparred a couple of times and notice that my accuracy is horrible right now.

Normally I don't have the best accuracy but it's decent.
    I have okay timing.

    Right now It's absolutely horrible.

Do anyone know good ways to train accuracy and timing except for doing pad work(new gym, busy coaches) and outside sparring?

sparring is not the way to get back up to speed. you need to get working on shadowbxing, hitting the bag a little etc first.
then i'd recommend sparring to the body but just building it up bit by bit-
start with jabs only for example, you'll soon pick up on the accuracy and timing this way. then build it back up to full sparring bit by bit.

        Ring rust. It'll come back.

            already thought about that.
Packed gym, either occupied or not enough space.

Thats why I'm asking for some tips on some exercises to improve my accuracy(which was never that good) and timing(that I have lost).

Always had pretty good timing, but when i try to counter back my accuracy kept me from landing many times.

For timing I'd suggest training with ipod and some nice music on.

Shaddow with an opponent and get your mind sharpened up by recognizing openings and keep a clear responsive mind. Sparring is needed to get into real conditioning and ofcourse accuracy in timing. Theres no exception, sparring is a must and plenty of it if you have rust to eliminate. Ray.
