  • First Day Today

So I signed up in Ten Goose Boxing Gym last night. Today is going to be my first day in the gym training. I'm a little nervous and kind of shy to be training, also I'd be never be training like this before. Anyone have tips or guidance for me?

cong**** for taking the step to go in

what you need to know from the start and you already know is that it's going to be hard, exhausting and you'll feel like you want to give up specially if you didn't do any other sport before

stay strong, focused and listen to your coach, eating right will help your body a lot in terms of endurance and overall feeling good

go inside the gym with your head up high dont be shy if you will see more experienced fighters that will be intimidating, remember they were once like you and walked into the gym the same way you did.

keep us posted and stay hungry, good luck!!!

Steppin' into a den of wolves are we? Yes you are.........

Be attentive and do as you are told. If you get doing something and feel fatigue in whatever muscle do not immediately drop the arm or stop an exercise. You gotta learn to love the burn if your going to box at Ten Goose. You will be surrounded with talent. Just look at them and remind yourself that that could be you if you really want it.

I rap you on the back with a "atta boy". It takes balls like boulders to step up, but it takes heart, persaverance and pain to remain. If you really want this all that you have to do is give it everything that you have, everyday. Do this and we could have a future amatuer champion in the near future............Rockin'

Thing is, I entered the gym last night not so nervous, in fact I wasn't nervous at all. I plan on being the undisputed heavyweight champion in the future. When I entered the gym, I felt like as if I was always meant to be here, I didn't feel nervous at all. Today tho, I do feel pretty nervous and a bit worried I may not to be able to pull off much, but I have to remember all the greatest fighters entered the gym just like me at first.

The one in Van Nuys right? Props man. Just go in there everyday on what your goals are. Learn and Improve. It looks like a small gym from videos. What are your measurements by the way? You said you're a heavyweight just wondering how tall/big you are. Good luck on being the next champ though. It would be cool to have a world class professional fighter being a member on these forums.

                  This!..

The best guys, show the desires to improve, by asking questions or tips on technique etc...don't stay buried far away and unnoticed stay involved and LISTEN..give it 100% every time you're there

Seems like a cool gym from what I've seen in the Sechbach videos LOL

As for advice, have a pro-active attitude and persevere. "love the burn' like someone said.

Boxing is a tough sport, especially to start out with, but after a while when you see your technique coming together it's very satisfying.
