generally snapping and clicking in the joints is a sign // signal that they are inflamed (swollen,)
you are probably overtrained
when you overuse the joint it eventually leads to small tears in the soft tissues, tiny cracks in the hard ones, and swelling and pain
the tears get caught up on eachother when they are inflamed, producing a binding and snapping sensation, often coupled with noise
the first thing you want to do is decrease the demand on the joint (IE get some rest)
second you're going to want to ice that bad boy down
and finally you want to strengthen it after it heals
if you can afford it or have insurance you might to look into physical therapy. those guys generally really know their stuff when it comes to athletic injuries.
i've got some permanant damage on the elbows from hard living and working in my youth. it's nothing i cant live with at this stage, but i'd certainly liked to have known to take it easier in my younger days
i'd suggest a break for starters

ok thanks. i noticed it about 6 months ago when i was boxing alot. i just had 6 months off and thought it had got better. ive been exercising for all of 3 weeks and its back. i live in the UK where healthcare is free so i will see what i can do. its not a big problem now, but like you said, its worth making sure it doesnt get worse. does anyone know where i can get ice patches or some sort of cool pack? i keep wasting all my peas
