It's just practise man, took me about 2 weeks to get decent.

Fist side first, then "ice pick" the bag. Do the next hand the same way. Switch weight on each foot just as if you are punching and keep your hands up so you have less space to travel from.

Takes practice. I have been doing it since I was 13 and I'm not like a super star at it, I can do it really well don't get me wrong but there are some dudes that do tricks and all kinds of useless ****.

I'd say it takes 8-10 hours to get the feel of it, then its easy progress from there. It helps having one in your house as well. I cant post links yet but go to Bigragu youtube page and look up his speedbagging tutorials. helped me and good luck

When it clicks, it just clicks. The progress will jump really fast at some point.

Don't try to hit the thing to fast when your learning. Start slow.

Do it in front of people, i'm pretty sure anyone who's proficient at the speed bag enjoys a reminder of how difficult it was as a Noob.

I suck at it, I gave it several hours for several days and have resorted to blaming it on; A crappy speed bag, a crappy swivel, a crappy platform, wrong gloves, bad handwraps.

Also i have decided that the speed bag is useless and only for show. (I don't really believe this, but it helps me cope)

Just keep at it, when you have a good volley you'll feel awesome.

When I started "listening" to the bag and it's rhythm, I got fast.

Have arm at roughly a 90 degree in front of you and palm down and fist clinched (not to tight) and move it in a small, small circle foward and around. Concentrate on drawing a small circle in the air with your fist while hitting the bag. Go slow with one hand at a time. After a while you will pick up the rhythm and be able to go faster, then switch hands then the rest will just flow like water my friend. Be patient and draw a small circle in the air!!! Easy money after awhile.

This is a really good tip. When starting your eyes can really fool you with the speed bag.
