What shoes do you run in? How long have you had your shoes?

I used to have pain in my knee when I ran. I bought the reebok zigtec shoes and never had a problem since! Shoes are a huge helper!

try some doctor scholles shoe inserts. The sport one works wonders, really.

Try running on grass too for a while. Reduce the impact as much as possible.

And last but not least. Change your running form. It's a bit hard for me to explain. Try to land on the start of the ball of your foot. Right after the arch, it turns into the ball. Try to imagine a line and land on it, so your foot is almost flat when landing but still at a slight angle for that springy feeling.

Maybe check this out too if what I said is too confusing. http://www.runnersworld.com/article/...3951-0,00.html

I think the best thing you can do is go to your local running store and they will put you on a threadmill and examine your form. They can tell you what proper sneakers you can try.
