The benefits of TREADMILL vs. OUTSIDE are negligible.

-- Oh wow running outside is wonderful fresh air it's so rejuvinating!! Then you trip on a rock and twist your ankle and you get fat on the couch for the next 2 months.

-- Oh wow running outside is wonderful there is wind resistance and different surfaces!! Then you get chased by a dog and bitten and are involved in a long, protracted legal battle.

Then again running on a treadmill is ***** boring sometimes.

Bottom line is, the pros/cons of either are marginal at best. Do whichever works for you. Not what some guy on an internet message board says.

      OBVIOUSLY.

Your doing two important thing. You're getting a great warm up before your run and you're strengthen your core. A strong core stabilizes your body and makes you more relaxed and you run more efficiently.

I run in grass barefoot be bcause when I try to run with sneakers it feels like to going to twist my ankle sometimes. Grass is better for your knees but it can be dangerous because of uneven turf, holes that you can't see.

              I have a question.

What kind of footwear would you recommend?

People will go on about Arches, and Support, and Flat-footed, and blah blah blah blah blah.

I run in $15 shoes from Payless. I used to run in $150 running shoes. No difference.

Come on man Marvin Hagler used to run in boots and ****. If he can run in boots you can run in just about anything.

                Unless you're running a marathon.

The arches of my feet really start to hurt about half-way, so much so I have to take off my footwear to get back home.

If you have a medical condition, then you have a medical condition.

                    But here is my experience:

I had never exercised in my life. I was in bad shape...

Then I started running. EVERYTHING hurt. My shoulders hurt. My neck hurt. My calves hurt. My knees hurt. My feet especially hurt.

I bought $100 shoes all the time. I would read reviews blah blah blah.

6 months later it didn't hurt anymore.

                    A) My muscles got used to moving.
                    B) I wasn't fat anymore so running wasn't such a strain on my body
                    C) My body was no longer too fat for my feet.

Now I run in $15 shoes no problem. For me personally, it wasn't the shoes or arches or this or that or blah blah blah that was causing my feet to hurt.

But like I said maybe for you it's a medical condition. Okay fine. I guarantee you though if you were getting chased by a tiger your @ss would run with or without arches.

Shoes are very tricky. I had to try five different pairs before I found the right one. I wear nike moto's because they have great cushoning.
