    Mushrooms Good, or Bad vegetable.

    I am eating alot of mushrooms as a sort of potato, pasta, rice substitute.I just boil them in the Microwave. I presume, they are low fat/low cal.Can anyone confirm.Thanks in advance.

    I think any veg you can't go wrong. I buy the frozen packs of mixed veg which tastes like rubbish but I dont have time to be slicing up fresh veg. Eat tomatoes too, they're high in iron if im not mistaken.

      they are great for you but don't microwave it

      cook them on the stove with butter and little olive oil. put them in when the pan is hot, then cover it and keep the flame low. take one out and cut it open to see when they are done. if you like garlic put garlic

        They are great for flavoring and their hearty texture is good for substituting starches (as you've been doing). They go very well with olive oil, parmesan, spinach, chicken, etc.
        If you wash them, try not to get the gills wet as they won't saute as nicely.

          When you microwave veggies, you are killing all the nutrients in them... also, eat some mushrooms raw, like ****ake in a salad, it has been proven to help boost your immune system.
          Mushrooms are a great option!
