Well, make sure it isn't bulk muscle done from heavy weighted side bend exercises.

After that. Change your diet pretty much. Eat cleaner, lower calories as well. Then continue what you do. Should burn away.

As you suggested, running is the best idea.

If you up your weekly mileage you will see a reduction. Running is great for reducing love handles and great for fitness.

while long distance running is good, it should be cycled with sprints, and other explosive, short exercises where you go all out for 3-5 minutes. . .

i have found nothing better than a boxing regime: 3-5, 3-5 minute rounds on the heavybag, double end bag, speed bag. . . 3-5, 3-5 minute rounds skipping rope. . . do 10 minutes of nonstop ab work at the end of the day. . . do this 3 times a week. . then the other 2-3 times a week do your LONG DISTANCE CARDIO. . . first, do a good 2 exercises (preferably body-weight, plyometric exercises). . . i do pushups, squats, then run 3-5 miles. . . other day i do pullups, dips, then run 3-5 miles. . . i usually only workout 5 days a week, as i have found it more effective to get the extra day of rest, but if i do go 6 days, ill do a solid 5-7 miles. . .

also, as flicker suggested, watch your diet. . that is just as, if not more important than exercising. . unless you're really trying to lose a lot of weight, you DON"T have to complete cut out sugars and oils, if you are working out as hard as i mentioned 5 days a week . just eat them in moderation. . . you can still have a soda with lunch ( i have a soda with dinner after my workouts, because your body most effectively absorbs the carbs post-workout). . . or a piece of cake or something for dessert. . .

I must admit, running wise I do distance work, speedwork and hill work.

But anyone upping their weekly mileage to 25 miles or more will not have a problem with love handles for long.

very true. . . it's all about your overall goals. . . running alone will also burn muscle; you actually burn muscle ebfore you burn fat. . . so to counter losing too much muscle, and definition, i make sure i get in some resistance exercises. . . they burn fat and build muscle. . .

but you right - if you putting in 25 miles a week, you're not going to have an issue with excess body fat.

I do two or three weight training sessions a week to keep on top of the strength side of things. Running can vary between 25 and 50 miles a week.

              The rest is boxing training.

For love handles alone, running seems to be the key.

                Hi Rico,
Some effective tips for you to get rid of love handles.
Do cardio exercises and target abdominal exercises,
                Resistance training will be effective,
Eat 4/5 servings of raw food daily,
Increase your water intake and drink green tea,
Avoid sweet things like soda, cookies and candies.
