You can learn boxing on your own!!!!!!!

the advise most common on here is to go to a real gym with a real trainer, but I say you can learn on your own and still be good. I have never had a real trainer, EVERYTHING ive learned is from watching boxing live and on tv. I also watch training videos and lots of sparring.
My advise to all of you learning the sport is to watch more boxing, but when you watch watch really closely. take notes on the moves you thought were clever or punches you really like and learn technique from the real pros in the ring.

Ive been boxing for about 7 years and looking to turn pro next year. I know im pretty good because ive sparred countless rounds and many pros not in many different gyms including the wild card, ten goose, and pretty much all the local gyms.

      ps. I LOVE SLOW MOTION

You are very much in the minority though.

You've obviously studied hard and sparred alot over the last seven years. No doubt you will have picked up many hints and tips as well as by learning the hard way.

Most people aren't as disciplined as you. People are forever posting up videos here of them hitting the heavybag or wall to ceiling balls with terrible punch technique, poor footwork and a sloppy guard. Some of these 'accidents waiting to happen' really do need a solid helping hand by a decent boxing trainer.

Anyway, its good to hear that you're thinking of turning pro. Best of luck!

Can you post up a video of you sparring? If not, how about a video of you shadow boxing, hitting pads, or hitting the heavy bag?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is interested in viewing your videos. Good luck to you.

You posted before me, looking forward to your vids.

you can learn boxing on your own sure, but you cant learn how to box another opponent on your own. unfortunately there is ZERO substitute for training in a gym under the tutilege of a proper trainer, and also sparring. anyone can learn to throw proper punches and look pretty doing it. executing it is a TOTALLY different animal however...
