  • best boxing books

Honestly I tried to post this in general boxing section, but the 400 new pac and marquez topics made it impossible to get replies.

So what are some quality boxing related books. Wether they are stories, bios, or about training, etc.

Not many boxers biographies delve much into the training side of things. They might tell you the odd training routine.

As for good boxing books, I'm yet to read a bad biography. My most recent reads have been

          Norman Mailer:- The fight
          The Ron Lyle Story
          The Ken Norton biography
          Calzaghe
Hands of Stone (The Roberto Duran Biography)
Bad Intentions: The Mike Tyson Story

The Joe Frazier, both Ali biographies, Larry Holmes, George Foreman, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank and Michael Watson biographies deserve mention.

I have the one the guy above was talking about called "BOX", black & white photos and quotes, very deep book. Pretty cool.

Another photo book I have is called "100 Years of Boxing", it has a lot of cool pics that are hard to find in the boxing community. ie, you won't find a the picture of Ali standing over Liston in it.

As for training books, the only one I can think of off the top of my head that I have is called "The Ultimate Guide to Weight Training for Boxing", which is pretty good for that subject, minus the odd spelling errors, which is strange.

              Good Luck.

                    HI Sugarj,
Thanks for sharing those boxing books here. I was looking for some boxing books for my son who has recently joined boxing club. I am sure they will be of great help for him. Keep sharing.
