true...i jus hate the trolls comen in here....this is the one or few spots on boxingscene where it SHOULD NOT be allowed....real people and young boxers come here to seek "actual" advice....but hey if one must troll due to laziness and not bein able to go to gym...then so be it

Thanks guys. My trainer and I have considered getting shoe implants to correct this problem as i have a slight knee pain in my right leg but we're trying to correct this naturally.

I was going to get involved in the debate to a greater level, but it seemed to quickly degrade into a 'I'm harder than everyone' debate. Really quite tiresome.

Back to the original question. Your coach was absolutely right. Being flat-footed is bad for a competing amateur for a whole host of reasons, mobility and loss power are two. Some pros are more flat-footed than amateurs, although Mr Pac has retained many characteristics of his amateur style, side-on and retention of a 'balls of the feet' stance. Then again, Pro's is pro's. If a pro is on a boxing forum asking for advice, then maybe a career switch may be in order?

Here's how I would coach the stance for top-level amateur competition:

              Boxing Stance

bouncing on your feet is for noob boxers

an elite boxer will not waste that energy and just stay flatfooted and move when needed to move, being flatfooted does not impair footwork, but jumping about definitely can

So a boxer either bounces or is flat-footed? Are there any other possible variations, like being on the balls of the feet without bouncing maybe?

that is a terrible idea, maybe if you just stay on the ball of your back foot

                      but then you're sacrificing power
