    pre-training meals/snacks ??

    for boxing training and cardio..

just wondering what people eat before training for energy or what they feel gives them a better preformance , and how long before?

i usually dont eat from about 90mins before training or maybe 2 hours depending on what happening at work.

what do people reccomend eating or what do you have?

i usually have things like rice or other carbs with meat if its my afternoon meal, or some times its just fruit depending on how much time i have. just wondering if theres anything better to have or maybe quicker meals to prepare that i would benifit from

I also take pre work out drinks depending on what im doing

on sparring days I made noodles with tuna like an hour and a half before hand, i dont know why but it seems to work pretty good. i have to add hot sauce though, its pretty nasty.

I have a protein shake and a few ricecakes with fruit 2 hours before training. The slow-realsing carbs really power up my workout. I also drink about 1/3 of a sports drink before the workout and the rest during. I also have a black coffee, no sugar sometimes and the caffine boosts heart rate and burns fat!

When I'm really going to have a varied up training session - that is, anabolic and anaerobic activity - I like to have something like mashed sweet potatoes topped with crushed nuts of some variety - almonds, or peanuts, even walnuts if you can afford them (which I can't, most of the time). Another good combo for energy sustainment is a 100% whole grain bread and some mashed up fruit. NOT jelly with all kinds of preservatives that add sugar. Grab some berries, mash them up, put them on bread. Natural peanut butter is also good, but it can weigh me down, so I use sparingly.
