  • My 1st run

This is my 1st post so was up to everybody on the forum, my name is luis cuellar. im 18 and live in denver Co, ive always loved the sport of boxing every scince back in '02 i believe when i say lennox fight tyson, i was round 9 but my mom didnt exactly like the idea of me fighting, i guess i proved her right because i wasnt the best son, i was constantly getting into fights growing and was a troubled kid, thats not important tho any ways now im 18 and my love for boxing is still as strong as ever and i have grown up scince then . i called a gym that is close to where i work now, i grew up not realy afraid of anything but i was terrified to give the gym a phone call, i eventually did and the owner was exactly what i was looking for, basicly what he told me was if you going to mess around dont even show up to my gym. thats exactly what i wanted but now im terrified even more so that hell walk me out the gym, i grew up not realy caring about a future and it cost me dearly, i just want to box, this is what i want to be, is their any advice you guys have???

Yea man just go for it. You have nothing to lose and if you work hard your coach will recognize it. Just go in an give 110% and soak up all the things your coach has to teach you.

All this advice is good. Its ok to be afraid. Check your ego and any attitude at the door. All the guys at my sons gym are willingto help the hard working new guy. It seems they want to get them up to speed so they can spar with them,. Good Luck.

nothing to worry about if you listen to your coach, try your hardest at all times, and be nice to every1 you cant go wrong, no1 coach wants to invest their time into someone who comes to mess around do thier own thing and be a ****, you seem like a cool guy anyways dont worry about being nervous just get in there and start training. goodluck bro

go for it, train hard man. be sure to find a gym with good coaches and decent equipment (weights, heavybag, speedbag, etc) don't choose a small ass gym where you can't use the speedbag until 7 pm or if the coach doesn't let you spar soon. you're gonna end up like me and you're going to waste your time
