  • Who are considered as "boxers"?

My friends always call me a boxer, but I don't think I even am. I never sparred, and they keep on saying "boxers should be able to..." "dude you're a boxer why can't you...." and stuff like that, its really pissing me off. people who don't know boxing shouldn't say **** like they know it.

what i mean is, if you start boxing, and they never sparred, can they call themselves a boxer just because you learn how to box?

and i dont know why. my gym is full of ******s and even run by not-good trainers. my gym is basically for people who wants to use boxing as a way to increase stamina. im gonna change my gym so i could aim myself to be an amateur fighter.

I've trained for 2 years and done loads of sparring yet I still don't like parents or friends calling me a boxer since I still have not had my 1st amateur bout. So I'm not a boxer !...........yet

This how I see it too. You need at least one "fight" to be a "boxer".
