Nice boxing display by both of you. Now we all know that safety is paramount with boxing. It's an accident waiting to happen when boxing on concrete. A guy nails another guy and he falls straight back like a board, the cement fracturing his scull. You have to think...... Then you take it from boxing on cement to boxing in cement right next to 2 large windows, it could be a nightmare if anybody happened to stumble into in to it or happeened to get knocked in to it. Use your head........
The boxing was good. I'm assuming that you were the guy in the black. You held your hands nice and let your punches roll at a steady space. It was obvious in the 2nd round that you were the superior boxer as you began to open up. Try to use that jab sometimes when forcing your way in. Rushing in with right hooks to the body will get you caught by sharper fighters, but you did work nicely off of it following with hooks to the body and the head.
You work the body nicely, never lose that. But I would recommend that you concentrate for a bit on head movement, your head rarely moved in the sparring. Good head movement when attacking will open doors so that you have the openings to punish a man to his body.
Just educate that jab abit along with some lateral movement, work on some head movement and you could be a good little boxer. Nice work......Rockin'
You got some skills and they are still pretty sharp for a guy who hasn't be boxing for 4 years, the other guy is pretty good as well but you had the upper hand most of the time.
Just be careful when sparring without headgear or a trainer watching. Just this summer i sparred a guy for fun in his backyard. He trained muai thai so i assumed he would be decent.
It didn't even last 10 seconds, i caught him with a weak ass 1-2 and he fell on his ass and started screaming that he was bleeding from his hears. Everybody was freaking out including me. He went to the hospital and all.
So yeah, i only spar at the gym now, with headgear and a mouthpiece. Atleast if i hurt somebody there i won't get in trouble.
Anyway keep it!
holy **** are serious damn you have a point there, I told him for us to use headgear, but he said no I guess his manly instinct didnt let him lol
You have skiilz . Why dont you want to continue boxing ??
I had a little baby boy when I turned 17 so yea, had to man up and work..didnt have anytime for myself really and you know the boxing gym requires alot of time and discipline..but now that im out of highschool I might just go back
