How do you fight a street fighter?

I was wondering how you guys would approach a street fighter under the mindset of a boxer. How do you think it should be approach differently as opposed to fighting with a boxer?

Also, in your opinion, should it be easier, or harder? Someone said being a fighter makes the fighter more unpredictable. But someone also said that a boxer can naturally adapt better and the fighter will be less coordinated.

well, im no boxing guru. But id say that you should just keep your defense up, and strike when he unleases a barrage of blows. If he just throws random blows, he'll leave himself open, thats when you capitalize

I know that being a boxer you have that better to think quick during an on coming attacker, with say either a quick punch or a quick combo but as a street fighter I would go for the take down take it to the ground hold you and beat you. Am I saying that this is the case with all street fighters no, but in the case of this it's definately a possiblity

I think it all depends on your back ground if you have never been a street fighter or never been a fighter other than a boxer you are going to have less of a chance, you are better on your feet but what happens when yours get taken out or he throws low or kicks you cant really do much.

Its good to be multi talented if you want to call it that, learn how to grapple as well as fighting on your feet then you will be above the other man.

see thats the thing comparing boxing and street fighting is like bananas and oranges. yes, as a boxer you have the skills you learn on your side, but with a street fighter they will go for the choke holds and the takedowns. when I box some one I think every thing out and make it smooth. when I get in a street fight i just choke and punch and do all sorts of crazy ****. so it all depends on the person you fight and your style. think of it this way if a ufc guy fights a bxer using ufc rules then the ufc guy is prob going to win because he wil go for a take down, and if they use boxing rules then the boxer because ufc guys dont sit down on there punches and have no power.

To be honest i would go to the ground, if u have any wrestling background. Once u take him down hard lets your hands go it will be over fast.

In a street figt, chokes and takedowns are a lot better than standing and trying to box the guy. Also when he's on the ground, u might want to use your elbows too. But if youre quick on your hands and feet, then try to counterpunch him when you see his punches coming. Or if you want it to be quicker, just go for the balls.. its a streetfight right? so anyting goes..

OMG... not the balls, less keep some things sacred even if it's a street fight. Only time it's ok under doubt to go for the balls is if youre a 90 lbs chick fighting a 300+ lbs biker.
And besides you might get unlucky and fight geeky manga/ninja/shaolin kung fu dude wich has spent the better half of his youth training the skill golden balls (Im not even joking, since my hand is busted I've seen some movies and yesterday I saw "shaolin kung fu with jet li". Was some dudes pulling weights after them tied to the balls "

Personally I would just punch out any street fighter, hitting a fast hard combo against normal peoples can be pretty devestating and if the aggressor had alot of pounds on me I would resort to hooking in elbows wich is not a nice thing to do.
