I read his book he didn't really go into much detail but he did kind of give an overview for his 2nd fight with Holmes it said-

early morning:5mile run +agility exercises(didn't go into what they were) then breakfast 4 eggs, steak, all beef bacon, whole wheat toast, and fruit

2 mile walk after breakfast to digest then back to bed.

afternoon gymwork/sparring(again no details on that)

chop wood then go for a swim, watch fight films then to bed at 9:30.

he also said he would go rowing on the lake and that along with the wood chopping increased his power.

he makes mention of the wood chopping several times through out the book especially when Archie Moore was training him. he said that on certain days Archie would put him through what he called a "full tilt" workout(again no datails) that was 3 hours long and he would lose 5-8 lbs when he did it. he said that he had to eat alot of ice cream during training camps to help keep his weight up. thats about it really.

Get up, eat, chop wood, eat, bash a tyre with a hammer, eat, sleep.

            Something along those lines.

Early on in his boxing career, Earnie Shavers was a strict follower of the 'Spam' diet. It involved eating 27 cans of spam each day and doing no exercise whatsoever.

Here's a picture of Earnie at the peak of his powers while following the spam regime:

Eventually Earnie succumbed to his trainer's persistence and began undergoing a 'normal' training routine. Shockingly, just three weeks after abandoning his beloved spam, Earnie's body changed dramatically.

Some people still claim that Earnie's immense punching power stemmed from his heavy spam indulgence - although some would call it 'abuse' - early in his career. Just imagine what could have been had he gone his own way and stuck with the spam. It's theoretically impossible to logically disprove that he could have physically killed a man to death.
