Im now boxing for 4 weeks and im really lovin it just like most people out here. I was a verry good soccer(yes soccer) player in the netherlands untill i got injured. Mine knee ligaments were ripped and i needed to recover for almost 18 months. Mine knee never felt the same so i stoped soccer.
After a few years i wanted to do something again and i choose for boxing. Now i have a few questions , i train 5 times a week in the boxing gym and i learn real fast. But to be honest i still dont have a clue if i am a southpaw or righthandend. Mine trainer says to focus me on one side , and i can hit a little harder with mine righthand. But i sparred the first time this week on monday against a boxer who was training for about 1,5 year and i got pretty beat up ( i lost , im still in one piece) . The biggest problem for me was that mine legs were getting really tired and i slowed down. Yesterday i sparred the same guy and i whooped hiss ass. The diffrence was that in the first round i started with mine left leg infront and start hitting from that position. In the second round mine leg was getting tired again so i started to switch from left infront to right infront and he was getting confused so i start hitting him allot.
No finally mine question is should i just focus on one position or just train both, i search almost 300 pages on this forum and couldnt find an anwser so maybe its a ****** question but i would like to know. When i played soccer i was using also both mine legs only there its easier.
I hope u understand the question,
Thanks anyway
