    Julio cesar chavez says that sparring and pads was all he mainly did in training camps and in most mexico gyms

    well...i mean u can build it up and gain power...but lot of times their isnt much resistance on the pads....best way to build power is explosivness on the heavy bag...in my opinion..there are lots of ways tho no doubt

      well I think you can get stronger and faster, your reflexes will get better but you won't get bigger. you'll have ripped arms and upper back but nothing more...

        Pads emulates Sparring if done correctly, it's a good substitute if injured, or touching up some skill, it also serves well for reflexes and speed, but hardly ever for power

        Heavy bag drills pick up power along with sledge hammer on tire, and squats.
