Stretching for me is such a vital part of my training. I dont feel right if i dont go through my normal stretching routine. I stretch for 1 hour before my training sometimes a little more thats pretty much from head to toe. Just wondering what other people are doing.

How long do you stretch?

I'm a real stiff guy so I take at least 40 minutes to an hour at most to warm up. usually jump role 3 rounds, bike about 10 minutes, hit the speed bag a round or 2, stretch my upper body, shadowbox a bit and stretch everything else out. I'm not actually in the act of stretching for more than 10 to 15 minutes tops.

Here's something to think about for you guys:
Static stretching (as when you hold a stretch for 10 seconds or more at a time) has been proven in studies to reduce strength up to 15% when done preworkout. On the other hand dynamic stretching going through the full range of motion has been shown to enhance strength and power when done at the beginning of a session.
I've trained pro athletes in the past who have been told not to do static stretching. The thinking behind is the obvious that one should not stretch a cold muscle as it has shown to increase the risk of injury. The findings as stated above provide additional reason and more than sufficient reason on its own to reconsider the type of stretching you perform pre workout.

static stretching is ok if you warm your body first.
Some muscles you can't stretch with active stretching I think.
O stretch for 1/3 of a time of my workout. I split this 1/3 on 50% after warmup and 50% after cooldown.
so the workout would look like
warmup 16.66%
stretch 16.66%
main workout 33.33%
cooldown 16.66%
stretch 16.66%
I don't compete or anything just how I shape my workouts.
