  • Any tips? [video]

I'm getting back into training, and I know Boxing Scene is full of boxing experts
    any advice?

    EDIT
So I started going back to the gym about a month ago, and I've got a new boxing coach, he was a Cuban national champ. I feel like he's taught me a lot in the few weeks we've been working together. Here's the video, btw my dog stole one of my gloves, and I thought it would be silly to only wear 1 glove lo.

Keep those hands up. Every time you throw a left hook, you hand comes down to your waist. You also stay right in the pocket with no head movement or footwork after every combo. Staying there with your left hand low like that is just asking to get countered with a right. All in all it wasn't bad. Better than a lot of the fools that post backyard sparring vids on here. Keep it up though you got potential.

Above average speed and the same goes for power! But where it goes wrong for me, is address your conditioning first and foremost. Also when you finish throwing a combination your never in a position to defend. You need to punch that dummy like you are wanting want to fight an apponent. Get yourself in a defensive position after you land a combination ie head movement, waist movement and your guard! Imagine a counter and practice your defence because if you fight like that you'll most likely get hit hard and often.

With that said you have good speed and power and could be somebody to work on as long as u address that fitness. In your defence it does look emusingly impressive when you whack its head with them hooks and it kind of reacts like a human would after getting twanged hahaha

most of your punches had no weight behind them(arm punching looks fast but its not effective) I would honestly fight you and parry all your punches with my forehead no problem.

my tip to you is to settle down on your punches. work on technique then try to do it with speed. punch with your whole body not just your arms.

I'm not gonna critique your technique or anything like that.

Just change your mentality when working the dummy. Your just throwing punches. Which makes the basics go out the window.

So next time, get in the frame of mind that your really boxing someone. That will make you keep your hands up while retreating, snap your jap properly and throw real combos, not just anything that comes to your mind.

Also, pacquiao and gamboa's style will get you beat up. But if you want to do it anyways, you have to build up your rythm. That's all it is, just rythm and footwork.

Lol I was thinking the same thing, the guy doesnt sound like he's breathing either but i guess some people do it silently, and yeah he's throwing more slaps from what it looks like, He needs more power in those punches from the legs and stick the punches.

Ps: All in All It looks like like you could honestly improve within the next week. That's how I felt, Epsecially wit the videos I put up, but i've gotten back into the swing of things, and feel much better.
