  • I started doing push ups a new way.

I discovered a new way of doing push ups a couple weeks ago. I was having a hard time doing clapping pushups because I have not worked out in about 8 years. So I started doing exsplosive push ups off my knees it worked pretty good. I was doing the normal shoulder width pushups. And also working the points on an x back and forth . And also close hand position to wide. I could go for a couple minutes without stopping doing all the varations was a good work out. For a lot of you it might be to easy but its a good way of getting lots of reps of jumping push ups if you cant do many from the full plank postion. Plus you still can drive quite hard off the ground and get a real good thrust into the air if you want.

Yeah, it's quite a common method for building up the strength to do pressups (and harder versions). Not in a mean way but you see a lot of women doing them cause they can rarely even do one pushup.

Yeah I do standerd push ups also but for a plyometric style push up where Im getting air born I cant do many. So I have been doing them from my knees and I find them to be a pretty good work out. Might be a little easy for lots of people but some people might be out of shape and its a good alternative. I used to see lots of girls doing pushups from their knees but never plyometric style. Plus some variations like where you have your hands together forming a triangle its hard for most people to do many good plyometric push ups but from the knees its pretty easy. Might not be a useful idea for many people here but I have gotten pretty weak and its a good plyometric push up work out for me.

Try doing them with hand touching making a diamond shape inbetween them.

Wide base with hand and legs.

Be on your elbows with legs in push up position (plank) and push up into a push up position with hands one at a time then come back down.
