  • What can i weigh down a heavy bag with?

Want to get a punch bag for my house and i stumbled across this...
    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...ProductReviews

I know its not the best but its really cheap. Its 4ft so its not too small but in one of the reviews it says it only weighs 20kg. I'm about 14 1/2 stone (about 200lbs) so i know it will just fly all over the place when i hit it. So i was thinking about taking out whatever is inside and replacing it with something heavier. Any suggestions?

Thats a very soft light bag. You will feel powerful and look strong hitting it but t's not going to condition you very well for a real fight..You want at least and 80 pounder..That's a good starting size..You also can repack bag's it should be pretty easy to make that an 80 ponder. Price seems right..Sand is cheap..If you just starting out add a few pound each month you wanna be hitting a 120 bag in 3 or 4 months..Just make sure your wrist and hands are getting conditioned before stepping up..Your progress should match the weight so you wanna be moving that 120 like you did the 80 pounder..

I was thinking sand. Think i will wrap abit of electric or duct tape round the outside to support the extra weight. Think i will get some thicker chains aswell as i think the ones it comes with will be very flimsey.

Don't tape the bag unless its ripped..Inside the bag there is like a inner bad filled with bags of sand and other ballast this is then wrapped in padding..If you constrict the ouside of the bag your compressing this padding..Making it harder..Toughing your hands will come in time and use..Take advantage of all the padding you can..Hitting things with a hard surface only causes pain and teaches you to pull back in power..
