Kai cho is the gym owner in japan. The system is a little different here. You have trainers that works with everyone. And your manager will be the gym if u are pro. Also promoter too. Mostly everything is inhouse. They take 33 percent and they handle eberything. Also they work ur corner for u. Very different from the states.

I live in mexico by the way so they get pretty rough in there. The first time i sparred it was against Michael Medina i had no idea who he was ... he kicked my ass hard ahahahaha U probably dont know him either well search him he is a pretty decent fighter... and waaaaay too much for any guy starting to box.

At my gym we get all types of sparing..Got a big guy that will suit up with a body bag and only let you throw body punches..He throws really soft just to let you know when you've left the Gate open..His body defense though It's a pain to find openings..really helped with focusing using feints effectively throwing Combos that land at different areas. Kinda alike a moving heavy bag that punches back..Lightly.Lots of good training and you can do it everyday..
Then we got people that pair up to kinda Shadow spar..they do movement and set up full speed but throw and land punches in slow mo..Again something you can do every day.

Then we have essentially fights..With gear and you don't press when you hurt the other guy..Still lots of bruises..Bloody noses black eyes even an occasional knockout..So these are pretty rare do once every week or two tops..

I boxed as an amateur all my teenage years but now at 37 just train to keep in trim but sometimes get accused of going at it a bit heavy at this gym ...but these mma guys that box with me are very open to shots and usually come at you wide an wild and if they caught you it would be just as heavy as my shots
Tonight i clipped a guy on his chin and dropped him...it was like the whole gym was staring at me...thought i was gonna get lynched and world war three was gonna kick off but we squashed it in the end
Silly question really but how hard do the sparring sessions get in your gym or gym you've used ?
Maybe you would be better of training at a boxing gym. But as to your question in our gym it depends on who is sparring who and whether they have a fight coming up or not. You do see some mini wars between guys the same weight and experience which is good for them but it never gets out of hand. I rocked people in the past and then justed backed off and let them regain their composure and have a go back.

dont know yet. trying to find an opponent. and before i have my first fight my coach wants me to spar a little more. I do too but i must go to another gym since i have become to strong and fast for the light weights. they would get hurt if i got mad or something. too much risk and no reward.

But because i work full time, its hard to schedule me going to another gym. but until then, im just working the heavy bag, mitts and working on my style and technique.

It's great Sparing with Lighter Guys. In general you work out an agreement that they take the stink out of their punches or you add it to yours..Once that's worked out it's great.. The speed and movement of the smaller guys..Its like intense target practice..Smaller guys like it cause they practice a lot of in an out and how to deal with an opponent they can't out power. It's just good to work out of your element sometimes..Pushes you up a level..

man, no serious gym anywhere would allow its athletes to spar with no headgear and 14 ounce gloves...careful man....
