I understand noone wants to lose but IMHO, use your jab, don't forget that jab and simply do the best you can forget anyone else is there and try not to invite people you know because you may overwork simply to impress them I've seen that alot and by the end of the first you're exhausted. On the other hand it may help you concentrate to do your best. Bottomline, instead of focusing on winning focus on doing your best and once again don't forget the jab. Good luck to you.

The jab will be my bread and butter haha. I mean, chances are I'll have 4-5 inches in height on whatever opponent I eventually get. haha. I gotta use the jab. All day.

Welp, one of you is gonna lose and the other is gonna win. I'd say all else being equal, your height tips the advantage to you heavily. But if the other guy already has a fight or two then that makes it rougher on you.

But nobody cares who wins or loses anyway. Just go out there and beat that mofo up and have fun doing it.

When I first started I was fully dedicated and fought my first bout in the junior olympics novice division about 2 months after I started up. I stopped the kid in about 45 seconds...............Rockin'

Hey man i lost my first one about 2 weeks ago. started boxing about 4 months trained hard but the one thing i thought got to me more than anything else was the uncertainness. So the one thing ill tell you is to find out as much as you can about your first fight night. For example WHEN IT IS! because for a while there i was training only knowing that i was going fight, whether that was 2 weeks away or a month away. it turned out to be 2 weeks.

Ultimately though mate i got beaten by a better fighter; he'd had more experience and a few previous fights.

But i loved every minute i was in there! So just go out there and enjoy yourself. Hope that helps you mate.
