  • Headgear help for women!

    Hello everyone,

I've combed through multiple forums, read all the reviews, and I have narrowed it down to a couple of options. What has worked for women (or for smaller heads) so that the headgear doesn't shift, and is comfortable, and doesn't droop over the eyes ??

I need your help to pick!...based on the following criteria:
    - between a small and medium hat size
    - box for fitness, and have just begun sparring -- don't plan on sparring more than 2x/week -- and will be against males
    - interested in protection and face coverage
    - won't be competing
    - mid-range -- (I'm aware Winning is the best, and most expensive -- i just can't afford it)

    options are:
    1) KOFightgear (one size..says fits M and L)
    2) Fightgear Masters Competition
    3) Fightgear Mexican training
    4) Title Gel Training

    Thanks!

havent tried any of those but out of those 4 IMO the fighgear mexican style is the best. you could also try the new triumph united superlative headgear its like 60 bucks or even less and it looks sort of like the winning fg2900

I really like the title gel one. Im not sure if your thinking about the full face but I have tried the normal one and think its really good headgear.

PartyGurL -- yea I know what you mean about some of the responses on this forum... difficult trying to progress and be a part of a male-dominated sport and culture. It doese require a lot of mental stamina, discipline and some thick skin. I'd be happy to share whatever i've learned about boxing...but i do hope the gentlemen on this forum can share too. Just sent you a PM btw.

Thanks to those who did respond to my post and provided some advice

Don't get gel. There heavy. The Title competition head gear are good and affordable. The Fightgear competition are excellent but have slightly less padding than the Title and Everlast along the cheek area but I like the chin strap and ear protection. If you're looking for extra protection go for the Fightgear Masters.
