Bodybuilding is detrimental to boxing but heavy weights is very beneficial to boxing. Where is all the power coming from in your punches? That comes from the weight room.

I am 21 years old, and have the fire in my heart to be a boxer.

My dream is to be the best and to train hard to get there.

My problem is i have no trainer and no guidance and i'm new to the sport.

I have always been a natural athlete and won rewards for wrestling and football while i was in high school.

        I am.
205 pounds ( not fat tho, people say my weight and appearance is deceiving )
5 foot 8 inches without shoes

I would like to ask for help, because i am serious and faithful at wanting to be the champ someday.
Could someone give me advice on how to start off and how to go about this.
I'm willing to do anything and follow orders.

        Thank you for your time!
rofl what?=))) 5`8 - 205 lbs. you either lie or you really a bodybuilder.. forget about boxing.

if you ask me.. **** that weight brother.. you will have troubles during street fights as well. that;'s too much for a 5`8 guy. peace

            Then you are incorrect.

HARD WORK. It's not like Disney where you come from out of nowhere and pull some life-altering performance out of your ass just because you want to really really bad.

All heart is gonna do is help you get through all the grinding work you'll have to put in. Boxing looks like an easy sport until you get in there with someone who's got even a little more experience than you. And then you can add in the fact that most champs were boxing before they were even teenagers.

It's a tough sport. And all sports are tough, really. Boxing is just tougher.

im not trying to be negative but you should get in a real gym or train with a legit trainer before you decide you can be the champ of the world because right now there are 1000's of guys in boxing gyms around the country that would whoop your ass

Ever here of Booker T Word? He looked like a body builder but never really got into the weights. His dad was the same way from what I'm told..........Rockin'

No idea why people come on here just to laugh at people and talk ****. How bout you spend the time training instead of being badass behind the keyboard?

I say go for it. There are different weight classes and if you have the strength, light-heavyweight or heavyweight might work well for you. I'm 220 pounds at 5'11. Fat? No ****en way. I am going to fight real well at 200 pounds but apparently people on here have to cut every ounce of weight they have because they can't compete with the big boys

                      too much negativity boxing brahs

i know exactly where u guys r comming from, and i hope u r considering what they're saying OP.., but reguardless, dont give up before u even give it a shot. especially if this burning desire to become a champ is authentic.

yea, this is real life, and not a disney sing-alone, but if u have a dream and passion, ur already ahead of the game. with that dream and passion, u have to buckle down and study tape, try going to some live fights or sparring.
u definitly need to work on ur boxing skill, obviously.
do some shadow boxing, try to get a round timer, as well, so u can practice boxing in round intervals

check bag in with us op, and good luck
