    Tone without losing weight?

I'm 5'10" and weight 138. (and im a middle 20's female). Im thin but not in a sickly weight, i am lucky to have my weight in the right womanly places (see pics on thread, posts #18 and 19:http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...=449141&page=2

My question is, although i have a flat stomach, id like to be able to show more definition, but nothing gross like a woman body builder whos abs are more shredded than 1970's Arnold.

How can i tone that area more, without losing weight? I know that we are not able to just do crazy ab exercises and expect great results if there is still some fat on the area, and just eat whatever tastes good.

So is it possible for me to tone and not lose weight in general?

I could be wrong, but as I understand it the only way to tone your stomach would be to lower body fat. Ab exercises would strengthen the area, but unless you rid the fat on top of your abs they won't show. I know you don't wanna get ripped, but you probably wouldn't have to lose much weight, perhaps just up your cardio a bit and see how it goes.

I'm in a similar position, flat stomach but I'd like more definition. I was doing alright a couple of weeks ago before I pigged out on the holiday food. So yeah, I'd say it's all about diet and weight loss. I don't lift weights though, so there could be something in that also.

There's no such thing as 'toning.'

        You have to lose bodyfat.

you look like your in decent shape, if youve just recently taken up boxing just keep doing it and in a few months youll probly have the tonning your looking for.

The most important thing would be your diet.

Boxing is pretty much high intensity interval training so after awhile you should get that cut, tone look that most boxers have.

only way is to get lower body fat. if you dont want to loose weight that means you need to put on more muscle. but definatly not more than 5lbs of muscle

Traditional boxing training tends to make you slimmer, insofar as most people tend to be a bit fatter than they need to be. The fact that some boxers are more muscular in appearance is merely the luck of the genes. Alexander Povetkin is fitter than the average heavyweight, throws twice as many punches but has a surprising amount of baby fat. Having said that, if you want good bodybuilding advice you should ask a bodybuilding expert.

Build some muscle, muscle burns fat, more muscle you have the more calories you burn.
