    Breaking in Cleto Reyes Gloves

I finally spent the money on some 16 oz. Reyes for sparring. As expected, they are pretty stuff out of the box. MY last sparring gloves (Triumph United Heatseeker) were pretty soft when I got them and didnt need much breaking in at all. I have read that Reyes need to really get broken in and that after that, they fit amazingly. So my question is, how should I break in these gloves properly? Will breaking them in by hitting pads or the bag ruin them for sparring?

no you can use them on the bag or mitts a few times until theyre broken in properly and then use them as sparring gloves

Aren't Reyes bad for sparring ?, I thought they were too hard on your sparring partner. Also means you will get a fake feal of dominance when sparring. That is what I heard. True or False ?

theyre fine for sparring especially if you wear your headgear. the training gloves have a little less padding than most training gloves but thats about it

I've tried just about every sparring glove and I always find myself going back to Reyes because of their quality. Most of my guys also use Reyes and people exaggerate when they talk about how hard the sparring gloves are. Yes there are softer gloves like winning but they are very expensive and IMF gloves suck! They'll fall apart very quickly and you'll end up spending more. Reyes baby

So you guys think they should only be used on the bag/mitts? I got them because most of the guys at my gym use Reyes. Ive been hit with them in sparring too and didnt feel that they were too hard for that purpose, especially with headgear on.

i spar with them and i dont mind people using them on me. i dont notice the difference between reyes training gloves or what have you, i mean we wear our headgear when we spar.

people still act like they got horse hair in them. the foam is similar to whatever most brands use nowadays, its the same as far as density. the padding is kinda soft actually, its just that there is not a lot of padding, slighlty less than on most training gloves id say. thats about it. people that dont have reyes gloves or dont know much about them always try to call you out for that. whether its because they cant afford them or whatever i dont know. maybe they think you wanna hurt them, i dont understand what their problem is

The problem is misinformation. Whenever you watch a fight broadcast, they always refer to Reyes as punchers gloves. What most people fail to realize is the Reyes pro fight glove and Reyes training gloves are made different. The pro fight glove has less padding over the knuckle area and has a quilted horse hair, foam combination padding.
