  • What type of fighter are you?

Interested to know how you guys fight.

I like to counter. I usually wait for my opponent to press the action before I get my shots off. I'm often on the move, waiting to pick my shots carefully, avoiding exchanging with my opponent.

    What about you guys?

Not trainin atm, but yeah good all round boxer. At my best when boxing nice and tidy, tight defence, countered more than I lead off. I have a top chin and tight defence so i was able to spar and fight often much bigger guys and even though I've been overmatched several times, never been badly hurt or stopped, never even had any serious swelling, because I'm smart and cagey and can roll with punches and protect myself.

I often wasn't so great off the front foot because I tended to press up too much and with the computer system that limited your points. I also tended to brawl a bit and stand and trade sometimes when there was no need to. Even though I usually boxed.

When I went to the gym years ago I fought like a cave-man. Fortunately, I was extremely tall(5'10.5") for my weight division(130 lbs pro weight division or probably even feather-- walked around @ 148ish), have extremely long arms(75" reach), was very fast and athletic. In one sparring sesion I was getting killed by the only guy I couldn't take-- a heavyweight-- and I remembered Sugar Ray Leonard's change of tactics in his second fight vs Duran and applied them and kicked that guy's as*. That sparring session wasn't without a bit of humor though. I tried sticking my face out with the intent to pull back in when the guy would try to hit me but he hit me all 3 times! LOL! He hit me once and I felt a shock of pain from the back of my neck-- as my head snapped back-- all the way down my spine to my lower back-- the same pain you feel when you hit your funny-bone on your elbow. So everybody afterwards thought I had balls of steel because they thought I was letting that guy hit me clean on purpose. ****, I wasn't gonna let that gorilla hit me like that on purpose but I let them think it because I got mad respect.

im an in-and-out fighter... but also like to counter. I like when a guy rushes forward and i throw a step back counter hook, followed by a solid cross, then I weave left (i'm a southpaw).

I don't do anything extremely well but i can do everything. I'd say i do best when i'm being aggresive, i can counter punch alright but i'm not the type of guy who will wait for the other guy to throw so i can counter, i move forward and rarely back up.

Aside from that i know for a fact i hit hard, got a good chin(so far ) and have higher than average handspeed for a heavyweight.

A really dirty one. I will pinch, bite, scratch, eye gouge, pull hair/hoods/sweaters, low blow, twist *******. Anything to get an advantage.

With what I know and have learned so far, even though I'm trying to be a well rounded fighter, I love to be on the inside. It's probably not the smartest thing to do as a boxer but hey some people are good at art, others are good at science.

Aggressive pressure fighter, move my head to get inside and work to the body. I'd like to be more of a boxer-puncher but I don't have the footwork. It's getting better though.
