I am pretty sure if you are a licensed professional, then that's it. Why would you get your license and then still want to fight amature?

Once you get your pro license, you're a pro for good.

when i first got my book to fight they asked me if i have ever been a pro? idk it doesnt really help but based on this memory I would say you can still fight amateur.

I don't believe that you can. It's the reason why I've been avoiding it. Though at 20 I guess it's time to either do something professional or resign to boxing as a hobby.

unless youre tyson or ali you should try to stay in the amateurs as long as possible and fight better competition and make a name for yourself and then turn pro in your mid to late 20s. at 20 or younger youre basically still a kid and youll be matched up with bigger and stronger guys mostly that have had a lot more experience in the amateurs

my post is too opinionated. turn pro between 18-21 or dont turn pro at all. there are worse pros than there are amateurs. amateur boxing is for kids, the olympics are for kids, unless you're from a socialist country. bam.

yeah and guess whos dominating boxing

dont be silly man you cant even compete in the amateurs until youre like 12. and you wanna advise an 18yo to turn pro and basically compete with grown men in their late 20s or early 30s when hes not ali/tyson gifted? i hope you dont coach anybody lol

turn pro when you are READY. whether its 20 or 30. there is no "guide". it just makes no sense to tell people in general to become pro as soon as possible. theres no logic behind that

Using age as a guideline when to turn pro is a huge mistake. I was suppose to turn pro when I was 18 after I went to the Golden Glove finals. I was in a bad car accident and fractured my neck which had me out for years. I took a ton more fights to be sure I was in shape, and ready, before even contemplating the decision to turn pro(Even though I was going to years ago).

Make sure you are ready and have experience. There is a huge difference in amature fighting and professional fighting.

Keep in mind, most successful professionals had a very solid amature background, and very few did not. Why not increase your chances of having success by waiting another year or two and getting 30-40+ fights under your belt?

Age is not as huge of a factor these days as it use to be. Back in the day people were turning pro early, which meant harder, longer, and much more brutal fights before their even mid 20s.

Staying amature till your mid 20's is fairly common. Unless you have been boxing consistantly since you were very young, I would wait.
