  • Looking for a "balanced" glove

Most of the gloves i have used have been very knuckle heavy.

Which is fine for protection but it just seems that it keeps me punching correctly

i had a pair of IMF bag gloves but how the padding is i never feel like i am landing on my knuckles and just feel really end heavy

my sparring gloves also feel overly bulky

    any suggestions?

i was thinking about getting a pair of Grant's because i really love my friends old broken in pair...they have lasted him forever

What are you looking for, sparring or bag gloves? Grants are a little heavier than most of the other brands.

I hate those piece of crap IMF, foam injected gloves. This is how the manufactures screw over the customer. Once the foam starts breaking down, then you have to go out and get a new pair.

yeah winnings are a little too high for me.

i like a glove where the weight is kind of centered over your hand instead of in front of the knuckle if that makes sense.

i hear since Grant's use a good bit of padding in the back that it kind of evens out the weight...and i kind of feel that with my friends gloves even though his are the bag gloves

im ok with heavy it is just a matter of where that weight is dispersed.

im looking for sparring gloves because i have another pair of old gloves that are good for bag work.

Ringside's IMF Tech gloves are the most durable gloves I have ever had, and I've had plenty of gloves.

Pretty much when anything starts breaking down, you have to get a new pair.

pretty surprised by pony boys comments, nothing but great reviews n the IMF techs, that is the first negative comment I hear about the IMFs, literally.

its not that i dont like them

              they are well made gloves

but i just feel like they are knuckle heavy and where the padding is the highest is not over your knuckles but your middle joint which makes it a little odd when you land.

i want squared knuckles and something a little more balanced

but really the only gripe i have is that its hard to make a tight fist with the IMF's. Gotta really strain to hold it close

What year did you try on the IMFs? The design has been updated in 2009 I believe. I have both versions, and the newer one has a smaller grip hose bar, so it's easier to make a fist. The overall profile of the updated model is smaller, too.

i cant remember what year i bought them in to be honest.

i mean overall they are fine but i found myself keeping my hands open a lot more than i should. and like i said i just didnt like the foam not being on the knuckle

but that could be from not being able to make a proper fist
