      Hey mate

There was nothing 'bar room' about that contest. I only watched RD1, but for a pair of first bout novices you both did extremely well. Your jab was more polished than your opponent's, and all round you were more tidy. As a long time boxing coach, I'd have been proud to have been in your corner on that night, it was a great performance...well done.

Have you got stuff to learn? ****, of course you have, but haven't we all? Add to this your are obviously in the army so the quality of the coaching you receive can be, let's say, variable (I had the pleasure of working with some 16th Royal Artillery boxers some time ago...a good group.)

Go check out some of the technique vids I've put on my site, there's loads there and you should be able to pick up some bits and bobs.

Well in soldier! Keep it up.

        Hi Buddy.

Try to SNAP your jab out there abit quicker and with more intent, make him scared every time you move your left hand. But dont lean in too much as you do. Also dont extend that straight right so much, this will come to you more naturally as you gain experience. You dont want to get caught with counter lefts as you lean in to throw the right, you could end up on your ass.

You did well, especially for your first fight, be proud and keep training hard my friend.

        Well done
