    NYC gyms

Anyone know any cheap but good NYC boxing gyms? Price is a definite issue with me, can you guys share your experience with me as well. I am located in queens and not trying to travel even close to 2 hours to the gym due to work and school. Thanks in advance guys!

Try universal boxing club, it's off of Atlantic avenue.

There's also a recreation center on Queens Blvd. To join the rec center it's 50 for the year, to use the boxing facilities there is an extra charge. I plan on calling the rec center next week to find out more info on the boxing program. I'll post the info once I receive it.

Here is a pic i snapped of the ring at the rec center.

is that a pic of the lost battallion hall? I havent been there in years ..looks cleaner now. I recommend that rec center , they also have another rec center on nothern blvd. in queens called elmcor it's very small but run by the city as well. I would goto the BX to John's gym or to my current gym willis ave. boxing. in the BX , they have decent affordable prices , great trainers and good sparring.
