Not a huge amount tbh. I guess ******ity is not knowing when you can't win

As a fighter, you should always be willing to keep going, fight anyone, always beleive you can win etc. That is the fighters attitude, it isn't a normal, rational attitude.

It is up to the coach to be level headed and use discretion as to who he lets his guy fight and whether he stops the fight etc

I agree with the guy above. When you are in the ring everything outside the ring should be gone from your mind so you can focus your mind and keep fighting no matter what. If you take too much punishment the ref or your corner should stop it.

heart & toughness is the ability to go into any fight with the un breakable
will to win.****** is not knowing that you dont have the first two.

Some might say ******ity is the act of getting in the ring in the first place! However, it takes a great deal of courage to do so (obvious point of the week!) and I can safely say that in 15 years as a coach, I have never once asked a boxer whether he is OK to continue. Why? Because the answer "No" would never, ever come back. I'm the coach, one of my responsibilities is to decide when my boxer's had enough or can't win, and it's always a difficult decision to make.

The courage is in the weeks, days and hours before the fight. It's also, perversely, in the one minute in between rounds because you get a further chance to understand what you are going back out to! When shots are being exchanged, most boxers resign themselves to the fact that they are in a fight and respond accordingly.

            Great question by the way.

toughness is the amount of pain u can go through without reaching the breaking point, true heart is pushing through even after that. ******ity doesnt exist for a fighter, when your in the heat of battle u cant realisticly tell if you have a chance or not. u just need to believe u do cuz the truth is u never really know. its up to the coach to decide when its not worth it anymore. imo.

I'm old school so many of you will not agree with this but here it goes........

I think a fighter should have the mentality that he is willing to die in the ring. It's not his job to determine whether or not he's had enough, that's the job of the ref and his corner.

Fighters are born not made, you can't teach toughness. Either you have it or you don't. Pain is only physical, nothing more. A real fighter pushes through pain because the mind and heart are more powerful than the physical.
