the easiest and probably most important thing about fighting a southpaw is you need to have a good right hand shot. It is very difficult to beat a southpaw without your right hand.....see Marquez v Lopez.(although he did rock him with his left).

circle to the left of him when you box to stay away from the big shots coming off his left hand

alway lead with your straight right. make it your jab. Do it fast as you can. you will stop him. if you catch him with a straight follow it up with your left hook. hope it will help from "boxing-4-fitness.com"

But can anyone give me advice on facing southpaws and what angles are combos are good please. Everyone in the gym I go to is basically right handed so I am unfamiliar with facing them. Replies appreciated thank you.

I'm a southpaw (not slick) and I'm a sucka to the straight right, especially thrown after a left to the body, as I lower my elbow/hand to block, the straight coming just over the right shoulder after body shot is a *****, I'm working on more head/foot movement (PAC style) to avoid this, a slick boxer will be more planted for you to do this IMO.
Gdluck and let us know how you do!

the combo ive seen work well is the jab right hook to the body come up quick
with the left hook. just because he has a advantage doesnt mean you cant win.

feint and move your head alot.....i mean alot, otherwise that str8 left down the pipe will nail you.

Try to throw the str8 right to the body aswell. Solar plexus or left side. It will keep him guessing and if you connect well it will ****ing hurt him.
