Im a Muay Thai fighter, and train all year around, and fight just about every other month, sometimes every month.
When ive been training lately, on some days ive had the feeling of tightness in my lungs, like im not getting enough oxygen per breath. When im training for a fight i train twice a day 6 days a week, so my fitness levels high, and im not sure why this is happening. Could it be a problem with the heart? Also on my off time, when im not training for a fight, i smoke weed, so thats my first thought, but this problem only recently started happening to me. I would usually stop smoking like 5-6 weeks out. In the training for my last fight, the training was going well , my body was fit, and i was hittin pads hard for 5 x 5 min rounds no problem, n then just on a random day, i wouldnt be able to do 3 rounds without gasing out. Some days i would start off with my run and i would feel my lungs tighten up. Again this all only started happening about 2 months ago, and ive been fighting for almost 5 years. I also recently started taking protein shakes to help with recovery, and it helped the recovery of my muscles, but mayb that could be a factor?
Has this happened to any1, does any1 have an idea of what it could be? If any1 could give me some help, it would be appreciated. Thanks.
