Dont let that first time bother you too much. Just like anything else we get butterflies and have fear when its something new we are doing. Im sure you were nervoud about putting your guard down because you didnt want that big guy to tear you up. Just keep going at it, until you reach that comfort confidence zone. If you ask any real boxers on here im sure theyll tell you that still get butterflies when they put on the gloves. But you have to try and keep sparing until you finally realize that you can **** back too.

First time I sparred I got wooped. Threw some but didn't land anything clean just gloves. Got hit with a good body shot and got the wind knocked out of me. Don't sweat it. That's why you learn from your mistakes and know what to do next time. When you're training work on different things and make sure you're not repeating bad habits.

Only watched the first rd, but this is a terrible first sparring session. And not because of you or your inactivity, but because you are in there with a guy who has no intention so far as I can tell of helping you learn. In other words, a total douche bag. Geezus *** it's your first time sparring.
Do yourself a favor and get with someone who knows what they are doing. that will encourage you to throw some shots, teach you how to move etc. Personally I'd like to see the guy you were in there with get his teeth kicked in.
Meh.

ok, just noticed it is your first sparring session back, but most of what I typed already still applies. And I guess a part of the blame is on your shoulders also. You should be edging your way back in, not looking for a match.

Can i just ask if anyone knows when you become an intermediate level boxer? Is it possible to reach that stage without ever having been coached? But by just reading books and knowing the theory can you rise above begginer?
You see im thinking of taking lessons but i dont know whether i should go for begginner classes or not? Ive punched the heavybag and hit focus pads but never with a trainer.

you just shell up and let him tee off. as soon as he starts landing you need to throw back or gtf outa the way. if you just shell up that will happen to you all day esp. by someone who is half decent. throw some feints upper body movt. boxing is a game of lies and deceit not rock em sock em robots.
